See why Treetops Lodge & Estate is recognised among New Zealand's premier luxury lodges for wilderness experiences, personalised hospitality, world-class dining, fly fishing, hunting, and exclusive nature-based adventures.
This is where the adventurous come to celebrate with heart. Whether you’re toasting a significant birthday with all of your nearest and dearest, reconnecting the whole family, or just taking a one-on-one moment to recalibrate, Treetops offers something more profound than the standard five-star stay. - Denizen Magazine
Families are warmly welcomed and invited to participate in lodge life, whether they want to feed the horses, visit the glow worms, or join the chef picking vegetables for dinner……Rooms are both large and cosy. An open fireplace, stacked and ready for you to apply the match, adds to the traditional lodge feel, and each cottage has underfloor heating as well…..We enjoyed seared venison, sauteed brussel leaves and roasted vegetable soups, kumara crisps and pork belly bites during our stay. A top-notch wine list includes regional gems from around New Zealand and well-known international drops such as Château Margeaux and Château Lafite Rothschild. - M. Wicks for the UK Telegraph.
Our stay was brilliant & the food was totally amazing, every meal spectacular…. It was such a treat to have an open fire to enjoy in our room every evening & despite intermittent rain we had some wonderful walks in the beautiful bush. Also had great massages from Alex the Day Spa Therapist who gave my husband the best deep tissue massage he's ever had. Was a magical 3 day stay. - M Newman 2026
Exceptional service. The team is small but they sure do all they can to ensure your stay is comfortable. The lodge seems much more magnificent than on the pictures. The territory is HUGE huge! The food they serve is some of the most delicious meals we had in New Zealand! Big thanks to the team for the warm stay.
Note for everyone looking for luxury experience: you can definitely book this hotel to ensure the best service. - Daria B 2026.
Over the past 40 years I've had the privilege of leading several groups to New Zealand. For the first four trips I worked with seven different operators then I met an amazing lodge owner John Sax and learned of his vision for Treetops. I haven't used any other operator since that time. As a Record Book Big Game Archer, fisherman, and passionate lover of God's creation, I can't think of a better place to spend my time and resources than going to Treetops. It is a five-star location, has excellent activities for the whole family, with world-class hunting and fishing at your doorstep, includes superb dining, and is the most comfortable lodge on the North Island. - Dr. Jim Grassi Author, International Speaker, Hall of Fame Outdoorsman, Tour Leader.
