Head out from the stables on horseback and trek through green pastures, past sparkling lakes then into the native New Zealand bush. As you ascend from the valley floor up and onto the Treetops plateau, feel the calm and beauty surround you. Tethering the horses after your trek, a short walk presents the most idyllic spot for an estate-to-plate picnic.
Take a rare opportunity to close your eyes and listen to the sound of a silence that is only permeated by birdsong, the breeze in the leaves and your breathing. Savour a beautifully prepared picnic, showcasing some of the finest flavours from Treetops Estate. Drink in the moment and relax, before traversing back to the valley floor.
Once you arrive back at the lodge, the spa awaits. Soak in the restorative waters of the spa, then drift away with an indulgent massage. As your body unwinds, your mind can reflect on the experience you have just made and connect with all that led you to the moment.
A picnic on the plateau experience can be added to any stay at Treetops Lodge & Estate, but advanced booking is recommended.
